Spare is a leading mobility operations platform powering over 20 million rides globally. Our mission is to make every ride possible, regardless of who you are or where you’re headed. We believe in the power of innovative demand response transit to transform lives by connecting people to opportunities, communities, and essential services.
Over 100 transit agencies and mobility providers — including Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority and CapMetro — use Spare to proactively manage their microtransit and paratransit operations under finite resources, reduce costs, and deliver a delightful rider experience. Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Spare has raised over $20 million to date and boasts over 100 employees all of which are dedicated to making transportation equitable for all.
Spare is a complex platform which boasts 7+ distinct product lines that serve tens of thousands of customers across four continents. As a result, Spare serves a wide array of transportation-related use cases which necessitate unique/esoteric demos, workflows, and enablement materials for specific clients and regions.
Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineering:
The Spare team had used video editing tools like Loom to accomplish this type of work in the past — only to struggle with maintaining demo assets and spending upwards of two hours per product demo video.
This bottleneck ultimately led to slower deal velocity, time wasted across the team, and opportunity cost across the marketing, sales, and customer success functions.
Product Marketing
Spare’s product and engineering teams are shipping multiple releases per week, some of which require rolling out as part of the release process. Because of our platform has several products, leveraging Supademo as a supplement to a feature release for sales enablement has been extremely helpful. Typically after sales training or an announcement, the first question we receive is: “where can I find a pager, demo or screenshots of the UI?” The same goes for tier 1 releases that we want ready for conferences. Supademo has been super helpful in cases where a new feature or product is better communicated through an interactive demo.
Product
Same as above: Product Managers at Spare are required to complete a ton of ‘check the box’ items as part of the release process. One of them being completion of Help docs on Intercom since the responsibility got transferred over from the Support team. These steps are extremely time-consuming for PMs who simply don’t have the time. Embedding the screenshot and a hyperlink to the demo has been incredibly useful for the building out of these help docs, which used to take a ton of time from the support and product teams to build step-by-step screenshots out of.
